The People’s Pantry of Great Barrington has been fighting food insecurity in South County for 23 years and in recent years demand has skyrocketed for their services. The Pantry has recently embarked on a $300,000 fundraiser they have dubbed their Help-Fill-The-Bag fund drive in order to raise funds to meet this year’s projected operating costs in the midst of a continuing surge in client numbers and increased expenses.
A stellar tribe of musicians came together on Septmeber 22nd 2022, all recognizing the role the Pantry plays in our community, and they signed up to Pull for the Pantry. All proceeds from the evening from the evening (over $6k!!!) went directly toward feeding people at the People’s Pantry.
In addition to the concert, both a raffle and auction were held in the weeks prior to the concert, So even folks who couldn't get tickets (the show sold out on September 8th) were able to contribute to the benefot as they watched on line as the show was streamed. The show was such a great success, that we are already talking about another benefit concert in 2023.
Thanks to all the Pantry Volunteers that helped make the show a success! Especially, Board president Beth Moser, board members Laura Gratz & Silke Aisenbrey, as well as Kathleen Shelby, Ann Falchuk, Diane Crespo, and Carol Way.
Finally, Please check out out sponsors page, give these folks your business, and when you do, thanks them from us. Let them know you noticed their support and that it drew you to them!
